PayPal kicks-off online holiday discounts

Pay-Pal, a unit of eBay, says it will offer $20 rebates to customers who use its service during the holidays and beyond.

Let the Internet discounts begin...

On the eve of the crucial holiday shopping season - eBay's Pay-Pal - announcing a new discount. The popular online payment system will give cash rebates of up to $20 per person. All the customer has to do is use the PayPal payment option on up to 100,000 merchants in North America who accept the service. Some of those retailers include personal computer maker Dell.... bookseller Barnes & Nobles....and specialty coffee maker Starbucks. And the rebates won't be just for the end of the year holidays - the program will last through Mother's Day 2007.

MySpace.com is preparing its Japanese launch and is already looking at a possible mobile phone offering, according to a Japanese media report. NewsCorp, which bought Myspace last year, and partner Softbank are planning to launch the Japanese version of the popular social networking Website later this month. And according to the report - NewsCorp. wants to talk about the possibility of allowing Myspace users to post photos and write blogs via their mobile phones. An official announcement is expected as early as this week.

Microsoft says it is ready to ship Office 2007. The world's largest software company has put the finishing touches on the world's most popular package of business software. Office 2007 will begin shipping on November 30. The new office version of the Windows Vista operating system will be available on the same day. The consumer version is expected next year.
